Keston News Service reports: “A church in the Buchach district of the Ternopol Region, Ukrainian SSR, has been turned into a museum, according to a letter written in April and received by the Ukrainian Press Service. The church’s iconostasis, icons, banners, decorations and crucifixes were thrown into a truck, hauled away to Buchach and burned. During this operation police confronted protesting villagers and set police-dogs upon them. When the Church’s cross was taken down the believers threw themselves on the ground in the form of a cross.” (KNS #255, 7/24/86)
